Had a LONG day yesterday, left home at 5am to fly to Raleigh NC for an engagement shoot and flew back the same night, got home at 2am and up at 5am again for a wedding today. Two incredible days though! I HAD to post some images from my time with Christie & Dan, a super cool/chic couple who I immediately felt comfortable around and had a blast punching out some cool shots in downtown Raleigh. So here’s a sneak peak for you Christie….more goodies to come!!!
Mark and Rachel recently got married in a small town outside of Waco. Since we’ve moved out of TX my wife doesn’t always get to go with me when I do destination weddings so I had to hire a good friend of mine, Jenny (acapturedlife.com) and had another friend tag along to “learn the ropes” of wedding photography. So thanks to the two of you Jenny Thebault & Holly Bollinger! Holly, who has only shot one other small wedding for a friend captured my favorite photo of the day! Check out this first image, pretty spectacular!

I met Rita Marie & Eric a couple months ago, and instantly fell in love with their story and passion for life and love. I always ask couples when I meet with them how they met and what brought them together, and each time at amazed at how too strangers end up falling in love! Simply cool. My proof that all is not chaos and randomness.
We were supposed to shoot these on a Saturday but got rained out, but they needed some pics asap for their invitations, so we met at Red Clay park and did a quick mini-session which turned out pretty fabulous if you ask me!

Brandon & Sarah are a couple I met only through email before we moved here in August. They got married on this beautiful farm/ranch just outside of Dalton called Walnut Hill. Besides being an absolutely gorgeous backdrop for a wedding, the couple who owns the farm is one of the sweetest venue-owners/operators we’ve ever worked with! Quick story, it used to be a Lama farm. That’s right Lama, like the David Spade cartoon “Emperor’s New Groove” — Lamas! The photos speak for themselves as far as this beautiful venue. You can check them out at walnuthillga.com

Hope & Wesley were married a few weeks ago. It was our first time to be at the Hunter Museum and we loved it. We had a great time hanging out with Hope & Wesley and their family, and Wesley — way to rock the hat man!

I had the great joy of being in Austin today for Story’s homecoming today. My brother and his wife just adopted her from Haiti and brought her home today. Got to experience an incredible picture of what the Church should be, at her arrival there was 35+ people from their church cheering on her arrival! What a beautiful child!

A few weeks ago we got to travel to Raleigh, NC to shoot a wedding on the university campus at the State Room. It was a gray cloudy day, but a beautiful wedding none-the-less. Sarah and Matt (both very photogenic) were a pleasure to work with and both did a phenomenal job with their photos. Number one favorite thing for a photographer, a couple who likes to have their picture taken!

These next three photos were taken by my wife…I must say she has REALLY stepped up her game. It’s such a cool thing to work alongside her every weekend, and she is really forcing me to step outside my box and produce some new, fresh ideas!

And this my friends is one of my favorite guy pics EVER. Way to go Matt. My favorite is the dads on the ends of the line!

If you’re in Raleigh, give us a call, we love the city and would love to return at some point!
The bridal portrait is perhaps the most nerve-racking, awkward experience for you girls. First it’s just you and a camera, no one else to hold your hand or snuggle up next to, just you and all your glory. Some girls dread bridal portrait day, particularly those who are a little camera shy. So what advice can I offer for those of you dreading that day?
OWN IT…
Own who you are, own that beautiful dress you’re in, rock your hair-dew, love who you are and what you’re doing and FORGET about all the people staring at you as your walking down the street to the next spot. You are beautiful, believe, act it, own that!
And here’s what happens when you own it…Kelli rocked out the bridal shoot. She was confident, calm, and ready for whatever came her way.

A couple weeks ago I got to do my first shoot in downtown Chattanooga. I must admit I was a little nervous about where I would find places to shoot, but since we’ve started this several years ago we made a promise to ourselves to keep things fresh. I never want to be that photographer that uses the SAME spots over and over and over again. Sure every once in a while is nice, but we gotta get out there and discover! (That’s part of our job!)
So needless to say I had a great time finding some new fresh spots that I think really turned out GREAT! See for yourself…

LOVE THIS WALL

This was taken at the Bluff View Art District, downtown Chattanooga…

This girl knows how to rock the poses…
